Applications Engineer

Responsibilities:

 

Generate comprehensive quotations, calculate thermodynamic and gas law relationships, design vacuum systems, answer telephone inquiries concerning equipment sizing and pricing and service related topics, present technical talks, assist in the technical training of customers and Busch personnel and write technical articles and field advisories. Lead the design process for Industrial vacuum systems and manage these projects to meet customer expectations.

 

Requirements:

 

· Must possess excellent technical aptitude with sound design and application knowledge about industrial systems, preferably from the vacuum industry.

 

· This person will also have the ability to apply engineering concepts, calculate, design, quote and specify vacuum systems.

 

· Must possess project management capabilities to execute the role of a project leader especially for vacuum system orders serving the industrial market.

 

· Ability to effectively communicate with customers and internal personnel to realize job objectives.

 

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

 

· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

 

· Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.

 

· Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

· Evaluate requests for quotation, obtain all missing and resolve contradictory information.

 

· Design proposed vacuum system to meet the customer’s requirements, calculating gas flows, pressure drops and heat load requirements.

 

· Select and cost all quoted components.

 

· Recommend system selling price based on established profit margin criteria.

 

· Prepare and keyboard comprehensive price quotations within customer and departmental time requirements.

 

· Interface with customers and field personnel, on the phone and in person, providing information on pricing, equipment operation, and trouble shooting.

 

· Check all pump and system orders for correctness and for agreement with the quotation.

 

· Assist the Service Department, as requested, in establishing safe operating procedures and in resolving field problems.

 

· Provide field sales and marketing with technical information, such as reports, charts, nomograph, and calculations to aid in selling the Busch products.

 

· Execute the role of a “Project Leader” in the design, development and manufacturing of standard and custom industrial vacuum systems.

 

· Manages system design process to meet customer expectations. This includes but is not limited to application knowledge, customer requirements, drawings and design compliance, system functionality, project planning and execution.

 

· Give prepared technical presentations, in house and in the field, to assist in marketing and training programs.

 

· Assist Sales and Marketing, as requested, in the development of new markets and new market strategies.

 

· Provide statistical information to maintain a company history of quotations and installed equipment.

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

BSME, BSCHE, from a four-year college or university or technical degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical demands

 

Must be able to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 1/3 of the time.; Must be able to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.; Must be able to lift 10-50 pounds under 1/3 of the time.

Draftsperson

Under the direction of the Drafting Manager, this person will develop complete engineering design plans and production documentation. They will be responsible for creating/designing pump and piping assembly, dimensional and detail drawings and following the general instructions and directions of an engineer. Must be able to read and work from P&ID drawings, hand sketches and customer specifications, as well as prepare bill of materials (BOM).

 

The Draftperson prepares initial mechanical design and generates documentation for checking purposes to insure customer specifications are met; analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate construction; prepares detailed fabrication drawings for manufacturing and assembly; provides information when required for cost estimating; prepares bills of material for system item purchase and production fabrication; performs in-process final edit and quality control review of drawings to ensure consistent high-quality standards; prepares production packages that include copies of all documentation that the mechanics need to assemble the system; creates documentation for servicing vacuum systems such as operating manuals, service manuals and exploded views for maintenance.

 

Position requires an Associate’s Degree (two year college or technical school) and two to four years related experience in piping layout, industrial equipment design or related field and 2,000 hours 3D modeling.

HR Associate - Benefits and HRIS

This position performs all functions related to benefits and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for the Human Resources Department. The employee in this classification is responsible for providing assistance to the Human Resources Department in specific, assigned projects; may be assigned office maintenance responsibility for certain functions; will research and compile data; develop reports, and complete special projects. Position involves a high degree of confidential information.

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Assures that existing and new benefit programs are adaptable to standardized computer and reporting systems.

· Develops benefit information and statistical and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers, and management.

· Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution.

· Maintains contact in person, and by phone or mail, with hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.

· Ensures legal/proper maintenance and storage of all human resources records. Ensures legal/proper maintenance and storage of enrollment, application, and claims records for all benefit plans.

· Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Audits monthly insurance bills against enrollment reports and sends to Accounting for payment.

· Update all HR programs with new and changing information; ensures accuracy and integrity of information.

 

 

Requirements:

 

· Process new hire, status change, leave and termination paperwork.

· Distribute all benefit enrollment materials and determine eligibility; enroll employees with carriers and process life status changes.

· Respond to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

· Process and administer all leave of absence requests, disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, FMLA, etc.

· Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as it relates to leaves of absences/disabilities.

· Respond to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manage the annual catch up contribution enrollment of 50+ participants.

· Coordinate open enrollment process.

· Administer the tuition reimbursement program, safety reimbursements, etc.

· Schedule and maintain annual physicals and associated paperwork, files, etc.

· Distribute and follow-up on performance reviews.

· Completes and files EEO-1, VETS-100, and VETS 100A forms annually.

· Covers for the Administrative Assistant and/or Receptionist as required.

 

Up to 5 years experience in HR or benefits administration; up to 3 years of Customer Service experience.

 

· Well developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships and sensitive HR issues.

· Ability to work with both technical and administrative personnel.

· Working knowledge of FMLA laws for all states, STD, benefit enrollment, Americans with Disabilities, and all federal and state laws; working knowledge of HR information software; ADP preferred.

 

Education and Computer Skills:

 

· Bachelor's degree in business or related field and a certification in HR are preferred, or any combination of experience, education or training which would provide the level of knowledge, skills and ability required. PHR preferred. Demonstrated experience utilizing Excel and other MS Office products. HR/Payroll system experience is required; with ADP is desirable.

Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities:

· Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, responds to customers, key accounts and satellite office phone inquiries and performs a variety of duties related to the Customer Service area in direct accordance with company policies and procedures.

· Receives, researches and answers internal and external customer and key account inquiries and requests regarding standard products, prices, delivery and nearest distribution and service center.

· Creates and maintains files and reminders for follow-up action with customers to assure high level of customer service.

Machine Shop Supervisor - Busch Manufacturing LLC

The Supervisor of the Machine Shop is responsible for the daily and long-term supervision of all second-shift Machine Shop employees. Must maintain a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. Directs the activities of the machine shop during second-shift operation in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work, complying with all safety, policy, and housekeeping standards.

 

Full supervision of employees including but not limited to recommending and communicating of performance appraisals, pay increases, work schedules, training plans, disciplinary action, and other business information. Responsible for reviewing and approving individual employee work schedules and time cards. Also recommends overtime schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for overtime. Reviews and ensure the accuracy of labor sheets reported against daily shop orders. Assists Engineering in machine layout proposals.

 

Minimum of three years relevant management experience in a dynamic manufacturing setting. Experience with machining of metal parts and CNC and PLC controls and programming preferred. Demonstrated leadership in a production oriented environment. Must be able to work occasional off-hours. High school graduate. Prefer a college degree in a technical or management discipline.

Customer Engineer

Under the direction of the OEM Support Center Manager, provides support and manages OEM contracts and relationships. Provides support for quotation, proposal and submittal generation, assist with customer service, products and general department business issues. Respond to telephone, fax and e-mail inquiries concerning equipment sizing, specification, pricing and service related topics in a timely manner. Develop ability to read and understand architectural, mechanical and electrical plans and specifications.

 

The Customer Engineer will be responsible for evaluating requests for quotation, obtain all missing and resolve contradictory information. Select and price vacuum pumps, systems, parts and accessories to meet customer requirements. Check system and orders for correctness. Report regularly on the status of accounts, projects, order activity, purchases and product or service issues. Interface with Service personnel, OEM's, third party representatives and end users to coordinate successful pump replacement or repair plan as needed. Assist OEM Support Center Manager with forecasting, materials planning and inventory management.

 

Successful applicant will have proficiency in using MS Office products and experience with ERP software preferred. Knowledge of mechanical rotating equipment pumps and/or compressors preferred. Will also have the ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Ability to organize and direct a project to completion. Successful applicant will have 2 – 5 years experience in technical sales, engineering, service or customer support role dealing with mechanical environments and rotating equipment pumps and/or compressors. Strong project management and problem solving skills. Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
